A former dean of the Faculty of Law at the Bahauddin Zekeriyya University Multan and a close friend of PakTurk Schools Prof. Dr. Mujahid Ali passed away on Sunday, March 20, after a short illness. Fluent in Persian, Arabic and regional languages, Prof. Ali also worked as the Director of the College of Commerce in Multan.
Prof. Dr. Mujahid Ali, who lived in Multan, Pakistan, always gave morale and moral support to Turkish teachers and administrators, from 2006 until the end of 2018, when PakTurk Schools were unwarrantedly seized. Not only a stellar educationist, late Mujahid Ali was also a devotee of Sufism who was profoundly attached to ‘Mevlana’ Jalaluddin Muhammad Rumi and Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal.
Prof. Ali pioneered the founding of an intercultural dialogue platform dedicated to spreading Mevlana’s message in Konya’s sister city, Multan and also served as the President and Vice President of this organization, respectively. As the sole resource person, he delivered the Mathnawi-e-Ma’nawi Readings, attended fortnightly by the leading academics and professionals of the city, for 3 years without interruption.
At the end of each reading session, Perof. Dr. Mujahid Ali would recite the ‘An All-Inclusive Salat-e-Salaam’ from the prayer compendium ‘Kulub’ud Daria’ and always commended on the Hizmet volunteers and lauded their activities as exemplary.
As PakTurk File, we pray to Almighty Allah to bestow His mercy upon late Prof. Dr. Mujahid Ali’s soul and express our heartfelt condolences to his family, relatives, all academic colleagues and students.
